- Before you start playing the game, it is very important for you to know about the motive and the objective of the game. As a player, your motive in a game of blackjack should only be to defeat the dealer.
- The game is started by the dealer and the player at the same time. At the start both of them have two cards. The dealer has one face up card and the other one is face down. On the other hand, the player starts the game with two face up cards.
- Once the player gets the cards, he/she will have the option of asking for some more cards. In that case they will have to indicate by saying the word ‘hit’. The player can continue calling hit till the time he is not satisfied with his/her cards or till the time he/she gets a total over 21.
- After this, the player also gets an option of splitting a pair, taking insurance or doubling. Once you are done with your chance, it’s the dealer’s turn now and he/she will follow the same procedure as yours until and unless he/she beats you or gets a total over 21.
- You can also choose to double your cards right after getting the two initial cards at the beginning, however, the disadvantage of doing that is that you will not get more than a single card when you hit. On the other hand, the dealer can carry on hitting till the time he/she goes bust or beats you.
- At the end of the game, the player with the better hand or the hand closer to 21 wins the game.
